What are the symptoms of fatty liver?
Symptoms of fatty liver:
1. Fatigue and weakness
When the liver is damaged, the body is often prone to fatigue. This fatigue is different from sudden fatigue. Fatigue caused by fatty liver is usually difficult to relieve, even after rest. Moreover, this fatigue is not very noticeable and is easily overlooked. If a person is always fatigued despite normal rest, they should seek medical attention promptly to find the cause.
II. Loss of appetite
Patients with fatty liver often experience loss of appetite. They frequently experience poor appetite, vomiting easily after eating, and nausea is more pronounced when they see greasy foods. Sometimes, abdominal bloating may also occur. Typically, when liver problems appear in the early stages, appetite will decrease to varying degrees and may worsen.
3. Spider Nevi
Spider angiomas are vascular nevi formed by the dilation of the terminal branches of small arteries in the skin, resembling spiders, hence the name. They commonly appear on the face, neck, back of the hands, upper arms, chest, and shoulders. Symptoms of spider angiomas can also be seen in patients with fatty liver disease. If they suddenly appear on a person's skin, they should seek medical attention promptly.
IV. Vitamin Deficiency
Because of liver damage and fat accumulation, vitamin deficiency is easily caused. Common symptoms include mouth ulcers, bleeding gums, and skin bruising. Normal individuals rarely experience mouth ulcers or bleeding gums unless lifestyle and dietary habits change drastically or excessive food intake irritates the body. Even with a normal diet and lifestyle, patients with fatty liver will experience recurring symptoms such as mouth ulcers, inflammation, and bleeding gums, and these symptoms are difficult to cure.
5. Endocrine disorders
As fatty liver disease worsens, endocrine disorders may occur. For example, men may experience gynecomastia and testicular shrinkage. Women may experience menstrual irregularities or amenorrhea. Patients may also experience rapid weight gain or loss. If these symptoms appear, it is important to get checked out as soon as possible for your health.
